︎︎︎OSAKA - EXPO 2025

Landed! workshop 30 April 2025 Italian pavillon

The CABA – Casa Abito Corpo workshop arises from the desire to explore objects and forms that lie halfway between architecture and body, between living space and garment, between function and symbol.

Starting from a series of researches on cultural, artistic, and domestic objects, it proposes an investigation into structures that contain, protect, transport, and adorn. Objects that become habitable metaphors, interfaces between the individual and the world, physical and poetic extensions of dwelling.

The challenge is to overturn the idea of clothing, deconstructing every conventional function to imagine new forms of inhabiting oneself and space. After a phase of observation and analysis that intertwines traditional objects from Friuli and references to great masters of art and thought, we enter a design and experimental phase.

At the heart of the workshop is a dynamic and participatory methodology inspired by the educational approach of Bruno Munari, reformulated today in a contemporary key by Matete Martini. A process designed for young talents of the future, where theory and practice, body and object, thought and gesture meet.

The final goal is the collective performative act: gathering inside a large cloak that synthesizes and contains all the work done. A choral, symbolic, and material construction that becomes refuge, body, memory, and shared home.
